Visit Kilpisjärvi – Where the Fells Touch the Sky

Welcome to Kilpisjärvi, the northernmost fell village in Finland — a place where nature reigns supreme and silence speaks louder than words. Nestled in the Arctic wilderness, Kilpisjärvi is a haven for hikers, nature lovers, and those searching for serenity in raw, untouched landscapes.
Here, the legendary Saana Fell rises with quiet dignity, its silhouette sacred to the Sámi people. Climb to its summit and you'll be rewarded with a view that stretches across three countries — Finland, Sweden, and Norway — a true meeting point of the North.
Visiting the Arctic Ocean by Minibus
On the way to Norwegian Skibotn village we descend about half a kilometer from tundra to the evergreen sea level.
Kilpisjärvi is located only fifty kilometers from the Arctic Ocean. Fjord is surrounded by the snow-covered glaciers of Lyngen Alps. By the ocean we feel the arctic breeze and enjoy snacks around a campfire. Do not forget a towel and swimwear! You can take a refreshing dip into the Arctic Ocean.
The tour price includes hot drink, pastry, snacks.
The tour is organized by Kilpissafarit, a trusted outdoor company that has served visitors since 1995.
The Arctic in All Its Glory
Kilpisjärvi is shaped by the forces of nature. The long winter begins in early November, when Lake Kilpisjärvi freezes over. The ice usually melts at the end of June, and by May, the sun no longer sets — creating bright nights filled with wonder.
Even in mid-summer, snow can still be seen on the felltops, adding a magical contrast to green tundra trails. Rare alpine flora and northern wildlife complete this extraordinary landscape.
Here in Kilpisjärvi, the wild isn’t just scenery — it’s part of you. Come to find the view. Stay to find yourself.
