The Historic Åström Villa – The Heart of Your Events

The crown jewel of the estate is the protected Åström Villa, built in the 1870s–1880s, along with its picturesque courtyard. Available for private small-scale events and exhibitions, this historic manor environment exudes an authentic atmosphere that cannot be replicated by modern construction.

The Story of Hietasaari and the Åström Villa

Hietasaari has served as a cherished retreat and holiday destination for locals since the 19th century. Following the Crimean War (1854), dozens of seaside villas were built in the area, becoming vibrant hubs for summer gatherings, Midsummer celebrations, and late-summer crayfish parties.

Built on the shores of Mustasalmi by industrialist Karl Robert Åström, the villa was renowned for its rich cultural scene. Its distinctive rounded wing provided an intimate setting for classical music evenings. Later, during the era of his son, Hemming Emmanuel Åström, the villa served as a summer home hosting private concerts by notable artists, including Emmy Ackté—mother of the world-famous opera singer Aino Ackté.

At the modernized Villa Uleå, historical heritage meets contemporary luxury, creating an unforgettable backdrop for every visitor.
