Grilled Salmon /Loimulohi 2024

Loimulohi is a Finnish dish of salmon that is cooked over an open fire.
The word "loimu" means "to smoulder" or "to smoke", and this method of
cooking gives the salmon a delicious smoky flavor.

To make loimulohi, you will need a salmon fillet, a loimulauta (a
special wooden board for cooking fish over an open fire), and some salt.
The salmon fillet should be about 1 inch thick. You can season the
salmon with salt and pepper, or you can add other herbs or spices, such
as dill, lemon, or garlic.

Place the loimulauta over the fire and let it heat up for a few minutes.
Then, place the salmon fillet on the loimulauta, skin side down. Cook
the salmon for about 1 hour, or until it is cooked through. The salmon
is cooked when it flakes easily with a fork.
